History twice made on Pitcairn
History was twice made on Pitcairn
today when for the first time two cruise ships arrived on the same day;
not just one but both ships
ferried their passengers ashore in the ships own tenders.
It's not often passengers get to make
it ashore and when they do its usually in the ships own rubber inflatables or
zodiacs or the Pitcairn longboats.
Today, both ships arrived just hours
apart with the Saga Rose arriving first followed by the Princess Danae. Both
ships had just under 500 passengers and as it turned out the Saga Rose had
only planned to stay for half a day while the Princess Danae stayed for the
remaining part of the day.
