Accuser Apologizes

Wednesday 4th July  As Americans were celebrating their Independence Day, many Pitcairn Islanders received  an email containing the attachment of a document of apology from the complainant  who had accused Jay Warren of sexually abusing her at the Landing a few years ago. 

Jay had faced his accuser, Jacqui Christian, in the Pitcairn trials of 2004. He was tried and was acquitted. According to Jacqui she says, "I now accept there is doubt about Jays involvement and I am pleased the Court acquitted him." 

The document was signed by Jacqui and witnessed by Pitcairn's Commissioner, Leslie Jaques.
